Add Mail Account settings for Yahoo™ Mail Plus

There are two types of Yahoo mail accounts.  The newer account requires a subscription to the Yahoo! Mail Plus service and allows POP access to your mail as described below.  Click here for instructions to set up Mirramail access if you have the older type account that does not require a subscription to Yahoo! Mail Plus. 

1. Click the "Tool" menu item on the main menu and select "Accounts" from the drop-down list.

2. Click the "New" button to enter details for the new mail account.

3. Enter the required information and click "Next" to add your mail server information.

4. Enter the Mail Server information required and click "Next" to enter the advanced mail account settings required by Yahoo! Mail Plus.  This information is outlined in the next step and can be found on the Yahoo mail website after you login to your mail account by clicking the "Options" link and selecting "POP Access and Forwarding".  If you do not provide a password for your account, you will be prompted for a password each time you send or receive mail.

5. To finalise the settings for your Yahoo! Mail Plus account you must select "Secure (SSL) connection required by server" on the Advanced tab.  The Incoming and Outgoing Port numbers should be 995 and 465 respectively.  The Port numbers should change automatically when you select the relevant check box.  Additional information can be found on the Yahoo website after you login to your mail account by searching for "POP Access" in the Help section.

6. Your account settings have now been saved.  Click "Close" to return to the main program, click "New" to add another mail account or click "Edit" to modify the selected account.
