Restore a backup of your Armacrypt account settings...

After installing Armacrypt you need to complete the activation process.  This is a simple process that registers your email address and allocates a unique encryption key for your email. It also encrypts your local settings (and therefore access) using a password you provide when prompted.

Activating Armacrypt can be achieved by one of the following scenarios:

• Activate as a new user.

• Adding a new user to a multi-user account. Your system administrator would have advised you of your multi-user account Client ID to enable you to create and activate a new user.  

• Registering (or re-registering) a pre-existing user account.  This option can be applicable when an Administrator has created your account and advised you with the appropriate details for you to complete your registration. It can also be used if you are moving your account to another computer and do not have back-up of your Armacrypt settings.  

• An existing user who has a backup of their Armacrypt account settings.  This option is applicable if you are transferring your account to another computer.

This topic explains the registration process for "Restoring a backup of your Armacrypt account settings".

1. Select "I want to re-activate my registration or add a new User to a multi-user account" and click the "Next >" button.

 

2. Choose "Restore a backup of you Armacrypt settings" and click the "Continue >>" button. 
    

3. Select the backup file to restore, which should be named Armacrypt YYYYMMDD.zip where YYYYMMDD equals the Year, Month and Day that the backup was created.

4. Read the warning message and click Yes if you wish to proceed.

5. A progress bar will appear.

 

6. After your backup has been restored you will receive a confirmation message.

 

7. Please enter your password, but remember that it is the password that you used with the message store that you have restored.  If you have changed your password since making the backup copy of the restored message store you will need to use your old password.

8. After accepting a valid password, you will now have access to your Armacrypt security features for Outlook.
