Register or Re-register an existing User...

After installing Armacrypt you need to complete the activation process.  This is a simple process that registers your email address and allocates a unique encryption key for your email. It also encrypts your local settings (and therefore access) using a password you provide when prompted.

Activating Armacrypt can be achieved by one of the following scenarios:

• Activate as a new user.

• Adding a new user to a multi-user account. Your system administrator would have advised you of your multi-user account Client ID to enable you to create and activate a new user.  

• Registering (or re-registering) a pre-existing user account.  This option can be applicable when an Administrator has created your account and advised you with the appropriate details for you to complete your registration. It can also be used if you are moving your account to another computer and do not have back-up of your Armacrypt settings.  

• An existing user who has a backup of their Armacrypt account settings.  This option is applicable if you are transferring your account to another computer.

This topic explains the registration process for "Registering or Re-registering an existing User" account.

1. Select "I want to re-activate my registration or add a new User to a multi-user account" and click the "Next >" button.

 

2. Choose "Register or Re-register an existing User" and click the "Continue >>" button.

3. Enter the required information as depicted in the next screen that appears.

Your Email address is required to verify your registration together with your User Password, Client ID and User Number. The User password is required and should have been provided by your account administrator or by you when you first registered Armacrypt.  It is not the password related to your email security; it is only used to validate the registration details for your Armacrypt registration. The Client ID is required and should have been provided by your account administrator for a new user registration, otherwise it is the client ID from your previous registration.  If you are re-registering Armacrypt, your client ID can be found by clicking "Help" on the main Mirramail menu and selecting "About" from the drop down list. If you are registering your Armacrypt software for the first time, your account administrator should also have provided you with you User Number.  If you are re-registering Armacrypt, your User Number is available by clicking the first icon on the main Armacrypt toolbar.  The User Number is the last 1 or more digits appended to the Client ID.

Re-registering your Armacrypt software is a last resort.  It is far better to restore a copy of your Armacrypt settings, as this will eliminate the registration process.

4. Enter and confirm your Armacrypt master password.

The password you choose here is IMPORTANT.  This password is used to secure your access to the email security features of Armacrypt, such as Encrypting and Decrypting messages.


The password you choose is not stored ANYWHERE and cannot be recovered by the support staff at Armacrypt.  You can change your password at a later time but DON'T FORGET YOUR PASSWORD - IT CANNOT BE RECOVERED.  This is a good thing for your security and privacy, which is why you are using Armacrypt.

Automatic Login - What's the risk... Armacrypt provides security that only allows you to Decrypt a message or send an Encrypted message when you have authenticated your credentials with the correct Login Password. If you choose to automatically Login to Armacrypt then this level of security is removed. The choice you make depends on how secure your local computer is. The Auto Login feature can be removed at any time by clicking the Logout icon and clearing the Auto Login check box on the Login form before you Logout.

5. You are now ready to start using Armacrypt.  Most of the features are intuitive and should allow you to start using Armacrypt straight away.  But most of all we hope you will enjoy the comfort that Armacrypt will give you by ensuring you email is secure and private.
