Activating Armacrypt Secure Webmail...

After installing Armacrypt you need to complete the activation process.  This is a simple process that registers your email address and allocates a unique encryption key for your email. It also encrypts your local settings (and therefore access) using a password you provide when prompted.

Activating Armacrypt can be achieved by one of the following scenarios:

• Activate as a new user.

• Adding a new user to a multi-user account. Your system administrator would have advised you of your multi-user account Client ID to enable you to create and activate a new user.  

• Registering (or re-registering) a pre-existing user account.  This option can be applicable when an Administrator has created your account and advised you with the appropriate details for you to complete your registration. It can also be used if you are moving your account to another computer and do not have back-up of your Armacrypt settings.  

• An existing user who has a backup of their Armacrypt account settings.  This option is applicable if you are transferring your account to another computer.

Note: The only personal information needed for registration is your email address, which is used to create or allocate the encryption keys required. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for more information.

1. Select either "Trial version - I want to try Armacrypt before purchasing" or "I have already purchased Armacrypt and have a Software Key.  If you select the latter option, you will need to enter your Serial Number and Software Key to proceed.

 

2. If you are activating Armacrypt as a trial version or your Software Key is for a single user, you will skip this step.  If your Software Key is for a multi-user account or you are re-registering your user account you will see the next window.  Please choose the relevant option and click the "Continue >>" button.

3. Enter the required information in the next screen that appears.  The only personal information needed for registration is your email address, which is used to create or allocate the encryption keys required.  Please refer to our Privacy Policy for more information.

The number of Users you enter can be amended (increased or decreased) later if you decide to purchase Armacrypt.  Please select the number of users that you believe will help you evaluate Armacrypt effectively.  Please note that a single user can use Armacrypt with multiple email accounts if they reside on the same computer and use the same Armacrypt message store. The (optional) User name is helpful to the Administrator of your Armacrypt account.  It is just a friendly name and not required to complete your registration. Your Email address is required to allocate the Encryption keys to enable you to receive and decrypt messages sent by other Armacrypt users.  This should be your primary email address - you can add multiple email addresses to your user account after registration. The Administrator password is required, but is not related to your email security.  It is only used to administer your Armacrypt account, such as adding/removing users to your Armacrypt account.  User accounts are transferable within your Armacrypt account. The User password is required, but is not related to your email security.  It is only used to re-register your user account if you need to re-install Armacrypt on another computer and you do not have a backup of your Armacrypt message store.

4. Enter and confirm your Armacrypt password.

The password you choose here is IMPORTANT.  This password is used to secure your access to the email security features of Armacrypt, such as Encrypting and Decrypting messages.


The password you choose is not stored ANYWHERE and cannot be recovered by the support staff at Armacrypt.  You can change your password at a later time but DON'T FORGET YOUR PASSWORD - IT CANNOT BE RECOVERED.  This is a good thing for your security and privacy, which is why you are using Armacrypt.

Automatic Login - What's the risk... Armacrypt provides security that only allows you to Decrypt a message or send an Encrypted message when you have authenticated your credentials with the correct Login Password. If you choose to automatically Login to Armacrypt then this level of security is removed. The choice you make depends on how secure your local computer is. The Auto Login feature can be removed at any time by clicking the Logout icon and clearing the Auto Login check box on the Login form before you Logout.

 

5. You are now ready to start using Armacrypt.  Most of the features are intuitive and should allow you to start using Armacrypt straight away.  But most of all we hope you will enjoy the comfort that Armacrypt will give you by ensuring you email is secure and private.
